Many of the greatest artists and business(wo)men throughout history are autodidacts. Higher education often sidetracks your thoughts and make you too critical to get on with it what originally was a great idea. Leonardo da Vinci, William Blake, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Isaac Newton, Bill Gates and Rodney Mullen are just a few examples of people who did it on their own with original and successful results. Saif  (left in the photo) thought himself to play the oud and you should check out his web-site for upcoming gigs. Today he's visiting Mohammed Khoudir's oud workshop AL-Oud/UD on Graefestrasse, Kreuzberg, to fix his Oud. He was playing the instrument when I walked past; and the music made me stop, listen, and photograph.
